McDONald’s
McCafé It forward
Jekyll Works played a pivotal role in designing and implementing the interactive component of McDonald's innovative "McCafé It Forward" campaign. This unique initiative aimed to track the "ripple effect of kindness" by distributing 500 free coffee cards across various U.S. McDonald's locations, encouraging recipients to pay it forward over three days. Our team's involvement spanned from conceptualization to execution, beginning with creating bold, out-of-the-box design concepts centered on abstract data visualization. We then developed a sophisticated system to visualize the data workflow and accompanying motion graphics, translating the cards' journeys into compelling real-time infographics for public viewing on the project website. As the campaign unfolded, Jekyll Works managed live data updates from McDonald's locations in nine cities, ensuring the dynamic visualization accurately reflected the spread of kindness across the country. This multifaceted project showcased our ability to blend creative design, data interpretation, and technical implementation in service of a meaningful brand initiative.
DESIGn - Style Frames
For these designs we honed in on the design elements related to the McCafé brand and started to develop the way data would be depicted in the final designs.
Data Driven Graphics
The final graphics were a series of data driven animated graphics, that used the coordinates of the credit card location at the time of purchase to provide a geo-location for our system to place a iconified pin.
Exploration
These where initial brainstorm ideas. The goal was to create a few images of data visualization concepts. This was one of those moments where we could take a day and just be totally creative. We were given an open ended direction to just be imaginative.
