A gift like no OTHER

The Ritz-Carlton's "A Gift Like No Other" campaign, produced by Team One, required a visually stunning reveal to highlight the brand's luxurious experiences in the Asia-Pacific market. Designed to look like an unwrapping gift box, the project expanded significantly, with Jekyll Works participating in nearly every aspect of the VFX. Our intricate VFX work contributed to the campaign's success, which was recognized with two Gold and one Silver Adrian Awards for excellence in digital multimedia and integrated content marketing.

Initially Jekyll Works was asked to look develop the bow and packaging that would be unwrapped to reveal the the moments of luxury in the video. The process started by researching different bow shapes and the various types of ribbons typically used to create them. We worked with a professional gift wrapping artist to create a series of practical bows and wrapping patterns to use for reference when crafting the digital versions.

Because versions of the videos were distributed to various regions, the patterns on the wrapping paper had to reflect themes from those regions. We did extensive research of imagery and symbolism to represent the numerous locations of the Asian Pacific Ritz Carlton locations.

The final bow and packaging were modeled, textured, and shaded for 3d animation and dynamic simulation.

Transition

After completing the look dev tasks, Jekyll Works designed, built, and animated ambitious transitions where the bow and wrapping paper transform into thematic 3D objects and transition to video. First, the bow morphs into a crowd of paper lanterns floating on the breeze. Next, a flower emerges from the bow, with petals scattering in the wind.
Finally, a school of fish bursts from the bow, swimming toward the camera in a graceful, helical pattern. These animations were created to highlight the elegance and luxury of a stay at Ritz Carlton Asia-Pacific, capturing the essence of “A Gift Like No Other.”
